Using Search Engines

One of the best ways to narrow a search is to place your search terms within quotes: "search term". In most cases, if you search for Lyme Disease you will often get everything that includes the word Lyme and everything that includes Disease. Now, if you enclose your search words with quotes: "Lyme Disease" you will usually only get documents that contain these two words together as a phrase. Placing your search terms within quotes will return much more targeted and meaningful results.

Review and examples of additional keyword combinations:

"Lyme Disease" Returns all pages that include both words side by side

Lyme+Disease Returns all pages that include both words somewhere on the same page

"Lyme Disease"+image Returns all pages that include both words side by side and also include the word image.

Note: While you can usually just type in search terms in your Browser Address or Go To field, it is often better to go to the specific search web site as they will "honor" your " " and + requests in a more uniform manner.
